7 Daily Habits to Change Your Life Forever | Start with any one

1. Getting up early

getting up early

If you are thinking that I am going to tell you to get up at 5 or 6 am then wait you are wrong. Let me explain. Let’s take an example of one of my friends. He used to be so lazy and he usually got up at 9 to 10 am daily in the morning. One day he came to me and said “I want to get up at 7 am”. I was shocked as he never told me to do so. Then I decided to help him. I gave some normal tips in the starting, like set an alarm he said already tried, then i asked him the main reason to get up early because without clearing your why i can make this habit or any of these habits constant. Then he said that he wanted to start a morning walk for his good health. After that I researched online and asked some of my friends who are early birds and got an amazing tip to get up early. I have tried it for myself too and guess what it worked.

So now let’s come to the main idea which really helps to get up early. The idea is quite simple. Just start getting up 15 to 20 minutes earlier than your usual waking up time. If you get up at 9 am for example, then in starting try to get up at 8:45 am. Follow this habit for 2 to 3 weeks then again reduce some more time like now try to get up at 8:15 am. It is a phenomenon of pushing your body and mind for a little, so that your mind does not take it as an impossible task in the beginning. Like if you usually get up at 9 am and now you want to get up at 6 am then you should start with the method i have shared with you but if you start getting up directly at your desired time (Like in this case it’s 6 am) then you may quit very soon because your mind is not use to with getting up early yet. So try this method. I believe it will help you to get up early in the morning.

2. Breathing Exercise

breathing exercise

Have you ever focused on your breathing? Now pause for a moment and sit comfortably, now give attention to your breathing. Do this at least for 3 to 5 minutes. Remember to do it with honesty. Now after that breathing exercise are you feeling much better than before? I have tried it in my daily life not just for 5 or 10 minutes but for 30 to 40 minutes and it helped me to realize that a simple focus on the breathing can lead to a huge mental peace. If you include it in your daily life only for just 10 to 15 minutes everyday, it can help you to live in the present and can improve your brain’s mental health as well.

There are different types of breathing techniques but you can start with a simple one. Just sit in a calm place, slowly close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Taking the air into the body (Especially into the Lungs) is called inhale and bringing the air out from the body is called Exhale. So you just need to focus on the process of inhaling and exhaling without thinking anything in your mind. When you practice it on a daily basis you will start to live in the present moment without thinking about your past or worrying about your future. I hope you will try this simple breathing exercise at your home and will take it as the first step towards making a good habit in your life.

3. Body Movements (Stretchings)

I have started small body moments from my 6th standards as I love to do these body exercises. I can assure you that if you practice 5 to 10 minutes daily exercises they can reduce your stress, overthinking and can improve your overall mental health as well as your physical health. Not have trust on me then just stand up at your place and try these simple body exercises (Body Movements) which I have mentioned in the image below:

These are very basic but beneficial exercises. If you really want to take care of your health and want to practice more such easy and simple exercises then you can read this article. Add these exercises in your daily life and see the positive changes. I got help in my stressful days from these exercises. I believe that these simple and easy to do exercises will also help you in your hard times.

4. Eating Healthy

 eating healthy habit

Just pause for a moment and think what have you had today? And now tell me whatever you have had, is it good for your body, does it give you enough nutritions? If the answer is yes then good but if the answer is no then be ready to change your daily food items with the healthy ones. In this era of fast food and junk food we are consuming these foods only to get a good taste without even a single percent nutrition. To stop eating these junk foods first we have to consider that it is not good for our health and we should replace them with the home made foods and green vegetables. We should make this habit gradually in our daily life. Also remember that you should always try to avoid excessive eating in your day to day life.

Keep in mind that if you are addicted to these fast foods then it’s okay, it is a common thing that happens with lots of people as whatever we eat, affects our brain and releases some chemicals into our brain. There is a very simple solution to this problem that I also use to reduce my addiction towards junk food and it is to just replace your fast food with something which is as tasty as the fast food but not harmful for the body. For example, whenever I want to eat momos or something unhealthy I usually buy some bananas or kishmish which are much more tasty and healthy than any fast food. This is what I do to avoid fast food. You can try something different like if you want to drink any Soft drink or energy drink or something which is not good for your health then consider to drink some juice or mink or something which is much healthier and tasty than these soft drinks or caffeinated energy drinks. Hope you will make some right, thoughtful and necessary decisions for your better health and will make them your daily life habit.

5. Social Media Detox

social media detox

These days social media has become a huge part of our daily life. When we go back 2 to 3 decades back there was very little use of the internet but today, the story has changed completely. First of all check your today’s screen time on your mobile phone, check it right now. If you have checked it then think what have you done of the all time you have spended on screen? If the answer is, “spended most of the time on social media” then you should stop using these social media apps or you can reduce the time spent on these social media apps. Now honestly i also use my mobile and laptop daily and my screen time also goes too much. It’s 8 to 10 hours daily and I am really concerned about it a lot. It can cause some health issues as well like back pain or neck pain. The algorithms of the social media apps are very sharp to attract our attention and when we scroll the content it releases a chemical in our brain called dopamine also known as the happy brain chemical. So what can we do to keep us safe from excessive use of these social media apps? The simple and easiest way to do so is uninstall these social media apps like instagram, facebook, snapchat, tiktok or any other from your mobile phone. I did it for myself and I believe if you try You can also do the same. You may face some difficulty in starting, your mind can tell you to install it again but after one or two weeks you will be okay without these social media apps. In case you don’t want to delete them then you can also set a timer on these apps so that you can limit your daily use of social media. I haven’t used the instagram app for the last 6 months and now i don’t feel any need for that but still my screen time is high due to my studies and some of my online work like right now I am writing this article but I consider it in ‘fair use’.You can also describe that For what you will use your phone and For what you will not use it . While using a phone/laptop or any device You should alway keep first priority to your health. So in short, try to reduce the use of social media from your daily life and use it only when you actually need it. Try to replace your phone-using habit with some physical activities. It may benefit you a lot. Now let’s head to the next daily habit for a better life.

6. Journaling

Journaling habit

Let me ask you a question, “how often do you write something?” Maybe you write for your school homework or college assignment or for your office work. But have you ever written something for yourself, about yourself? If the answer is yes then it’s excellent with if not then you should start writing things about yourself like what do love to do, who is your favorite person in your life and why, are you a serene person or not, what’s your future goals, when did you get happy a lot, which changes would you like to do in your life, which mistakes teach you a lot or you can simply write a daily note “about your day” every night. I also write about my day but sometimes I skip this because my life is so boring and sometimes some days I don’t have anything to write but it is okay, it happens sometimes. You can start writing journals about your daily routine of the day like what have you done today, where have you been today, what have you had in your breakfast, lunch and dinner etc. For that i will suggest you to make a personal diary for yourself as I have made a personal diary for myself too. So make a daily habit of writing about your whole day before going to bed.

7. Sleeping Enough

sleeping enough habit

Let me first ask you a simple question: how much time did you sleep last night? Maybe 4 or 5 hours isn’t? Studies show us that a common person should sleep at least 7 to 8 hours daily. Our body is like a machine which also needs some enough rest to function properly so we should take care of our daily routine of sleep. I have started a Challenge for myself to sleep early in the night and get up early in the morning with a quality sleep of 8 hours daily. Every night I try to sleep at 11 o’clock and get up at 7 o’clock in the morning. You should also try to improve your sleep hours at least 7 hours daily. It will make your mind much happier and will improve your mental health. A quality sleep gives a positive energy to the brain and makes it much stronger and healthier. I have experienced these effects. Now it’s your turn to improve your sleep cycle.
